The foreseen effects of climate change on ragweed pollen allergy: sensitisation will more than double in Europe by 2041 to 2060

The first study modelling the future impacts of climate change upon ragweed plant distribution, plant life cycles, and pollen production dispersal foresees their subsequent impacts on pollen concentrations and allergy. Quantitative estimates indicate that ragweed pollen allergy will become a common health problem across Europe, expanding into areas where it is currently uncommon.

The 3rd International Ragweed conference took place in Rho (Milan) on 3-4 April, was jointly organized with the "Ambrosia day 2014- Ragweed allergy: 15 years of prevention" and focused on the harmful effects of the invasive weed, Ambrosia artemisiifolia.
